Match is over!!!  Scores are posted!!!!!!
WE DID IT!  LOOKS LIKE WE MADE  $3200.00 FOR SOAR.
I would like to thank everyone that participated in this match.  Those that worked to make it a special day have my undying gratitude.  Cathy and Michelle for doing stats.  Not a job I want.  Karen and Terry for managing the prize table.  Tyrone for all the hard work on the range.  Anthony, Bob, David, Daniel, George, Herb, Jeff, John Bryars, John Mitchell, Joe, Larry, Martin, Ralph for creating and running the stages during a miserable rainy day.  A special thanks goes to all our donors for the great prize table.  A special thanks to our stage sponsors, their donations allowed us to increase the size of the range, thereby making our event more successful.
Thank you to all our competitors that came for all around to help support our cause.  I hope you each had a good time.

And on a lighter note!!!
Congratulations to George Blazier for winning the side match!!!  The "OLD MAN" kicked Clint Upchurch's backside with a 2.57 second run.  Clint's score was 2.71    These scores beat last yeas scores (I'll have to check last years file) by almost a second.  Will verify later.  And like Clint did last year, George donated the money back to the cause.  He has bragging rights for a year.

                            Helping Others

This year we are supporting the SOAR Network.  The SOAR (Supporting Others in Autism Recover) Network is a small newly formed foundation dedicated to helping families in Rutherford and Cleveland Counties.   SOAR works with other Autism foundations in other areas to get families the support they need.  Support can be emotional, monetary, educational or any other way that helps releive the stresses  brought on in the day to day dealings with autistic children.
SOAR offers support to families with autistic children in the following ways:
       1.  Helping to pay for medical treatments or therapies
       2.  Helping to pay for medications
       3.  Helping to pay for special child care
       4.  Offering emotional support, at meetings, on line, or by phone.
       5.  Providing educational resources
       6.  Helping to pay for special equipment needed.

Recently a Rutherford County family with an autistic child purchased a hyperbaric chamber with a partial grant from SOAR.  This chamber is available for use by any child with a prescription from their doctor
We as a group are not here to debate the issues of autism.  There are many; diagnosis, treatment, causes, etc.  After getting involved with creating the fund raiser, we have learned that almost everyone knows someone tht has been touched by autism.
We just want to offer some form of help.  A shooting match that allows our friends and fellow shooters the opportunity to get together and support a good cause seemed the way to go.
Saturday's success says we made a good choice.
